(enchant:?page,(bg:(hsl:210,0.8039,0.5,0.7)))Throughout this course, I have come across many challenges regarding my projects. I learned that the technical aspects of things mostly got in the way of my stories and projects.
To begin, I had many challenges with the poetry project because I was new to coding, and I've never had to code ever in my education career. For me, it was very difficult to gain confidence and learning the different steps of how to code. But, eventually I overcame it and gain knowledge of how coding works.
Another challenge for me was learning how to use the different platforms and how to publish my work after I was finish. Like I stated previously, I was new to the whole concept of writing with digital media because I've only ever taken traditional writing classes before this course.
Lastly, I believe I learned the most challenging platform of all was Bitsy. Bitsy was a totally different platform that I was not used to, and it was very difficult to use to all of the technical aspects on that platform. I also believe this was very different compared to all other forms of writing that we've done in this course because there wasn't much dialogue to use on this platform. (enchant:?page,(bg:(hsl:210,0.8039,0.5,0.7)))For this course, I learned that there were several different possibilities regarding digital media.
The variety of possibilities included; alt images and text and audio combined in our stories and projects. I honestly never knew you could do that in a writing class.
I learned that there is a possibility of being interactive in writing with digital media, which is totally different compared to traditional writing. For example, for our twine projects, we were able to interact and click on different links that led us to another story. I believe that is a great opportunity to interact with others work. Bitsy was similar where you could use your different keys on your keyboard to interact with the game and storyline.
There were possibilities to plan ahead, so we were taught that we could brainstorm our ideas onto paper before executing our ideas and stories on the different platforms we were told to use for our projects.
Lastly, the class was taught that if you wanted to share and/or publish your project online, that was a possibility to have others in the world see your work and be inspired by that as well. This class also had me go more creative and have a better outlook on how possible it was for my stories to be interactive and engaging. (enchant:?page,(bg:(hsl:210,0.8039,0.5,0.7)))There have been many responsibilities that, I, as a student have been given the responsibility to execute in all of our projects and stories.
As a student, I've had to publish my projects to Neocities so that other students could have access to give constructive critism on my stories and projects.
I had the responsibilities to use alt images and texts, and that could be very different compared to traditional writing because in most of my other classes, it's mainly traditional APA formatting or MLA formatting. So I feel as though that writing with digital media have many different features of what you can be responsible for.
Lastly, I learned to be responsible by engaging in other students work, so in return I could also give constructive criticism and help others improve their projects and stories.(enchant:?page,(bg:(hsl:210,0.8039,0.5,0.7)))Thank you for reading my reflection!
I enjoyed learning about the different challenges, possibilities, and responsibilities in your class this semester! It gave me a different perspective of how writing can truly be interactive and engaging.
